Most maternal deaths happen in remote and fragile settings, but the majority can be prevented if the women receive quality care.
That is why Maternity Foundation works to strengthen the knowledge and skills of midwives and other healthcare professionals through effective learning and training programmes and the proven digital health solution, the Safe Delivery App.
For every woman who dies, 20 – 30 women suffer preventable birth injuries, infections or disabilities, affecting their overall health and quality of life. By building up midwifery knowledge and skills, we also work to end preventable maternal morbidity and harm.
We aim towards making every pregnancy healthy, each childbirth safe, and giving all newborns a good start in life.
We have reached 500,000 midwives and other healthcare professionals across more than 70 low- and middle-income countries. But the need and potential are much bigger.
About Maternity Foundation in the US
In 2023, we proudly launched Maternity Foundation, Inc. in the United States. Our presence in the US will allow us the opportunity to engage and collaborate more directly with our partners and supporters there and increase our overall reach and network worldwide.
